ServeNow’s Basic Series is not just transforming lives—it’s opening doors to schools and communities in ways we never imagined. Local leaders use The Basic Series for literature distribution, camp organization, religion classes, and weekend preaching, reaching thousands of young people across various schools.
Pastor Peter shared, “Before ServeNow trained and equipped us, only a few schools could open doors for me and my team to minister. But since launching The Basic Series program and helping us visit schools and churches, many more doors have opened. Other ministries are giving us literature, speaking Bibles, and Christian materials to fit different age groups in schools and local churches.”
One school hall was packed with students, listening intently to ministers trained through ServeNow as they shared The Basic Series message. Hundreds of students gave their lives to Jesus during these weekend preachings—lives that might never have encountered the Gospel without ServeNow’s intervention. “We thank God for this material; it is clear and explains topics so well,” Pastor Peter added.
Meet Fulmaya, a graduate of ServeNow Tailoring School in Southern Asia. Fulmaya’s story is a testament to how ServeNow opens doors for individuals to improve their lives and serve their communities.
“My family comprises of eight members…Providing for such a large household is challenging,” Fulmaya explained. “I never imagined I could afford sewing training on my own, but then ServeNow came into my life, offering me a free 6-month sewing and cutting course. This opportunity has been a true blessing. The skills I’ve gained allow me to sew clothes for my family. I’ve even sewn five kurtas for people in my village. The small income I earn from sewing for friends has made a real difference, helping to put food on our table and easing some of the financial strain.”

For the first time, ServeNow Sri Lanka brought its Manna Project formerly known as The Unity Kitchen on a sacred Poya (full moon) Day—a day of special significance for Buddhists. We served meals to 1,400 people, most of whom were Buddhists. This initiative nourished their bodies and opened doors for meaningful conversations about religious harmony.
D.A. Premaratne, Acting Honorary President of an Elderly Society, shared, “Despite 95% of the people here are Buddhists, I am proud to work closely with them as a Christian. Today, I am particularly happy that on a significant day for Buddhists, a Christian organization like ServeNow has come forward to provide a meal to our community. This act of kindness will be something no one in this village will forget. Rather than living separate as Christians, it is a truly positive step to work hand in hand with the Buddhist community.”
The Manna Project in this town was more than just meal provision—it was an opportunity to build bridges between communities of different faiths, fostering mutual respect and understanding. We thank God for guiding us and opening doors to share His message of love with those we serve.
