Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. It’s the world’s biggest day of generosity and kicks off every Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It’s a celebration for all acts of giving; voice, time, money, good, and kindness. Each of us can give generously in different ways, whether tangibly or nonphysical. As Christians, giving generously is not just the right thing to do; it’s one of the basic foundational tenants of the Christian faith. Giving is the very nature of God and Jesus himself.
The bible shares various accounts of why, how, and what will happen when we’re generous. Corinthians 9:6-7 says, “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Together as the body of Christ, ServeNow seeks to serve as Jesus would serve. Here are 5 easy ways to give back cheerfully to ServeNow and others on #GivingTuesday:
1) Give Your Voice
Each of us holds a powerful voice and opportunity on #GivingTuesday and every day. Proverbs 15:4 states, “Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.” Our words can bring life and health to those around us, whether locally or internationally. Use your voice to speak up for our cause or nonprofit. Host a home meeting or event with ServeNow. Share about us among your personal network of friends, family, or even coworkers. Invite others into a like-minded cause and mission to unleash the life and power of giving generously!
Give your voice and share about why you support ServeNow! Tag us on Facebook (@WeServeNow) and share your reason by #GivingTuesday with us.
2) Give Your Time
Your time is just as impactful and valuable as money. Think about using your time to volunteer for a nonprofit! Whether it’s on #GivingTuesday or another day, share your skillset or a block of time to serve. Lend your expertise in IT, legal aid, marketing, or whatever may benefit a nonprofit. It’s a great way to give back to your local community and beyond. At ServeNow, volunteer at our Colorado Springs office or serve on an international mission trip! We’d love to serve and spend time together in fellowship.

3) Give Money
December is National Giving Month! Nearly 31% of all annual giving takes place in December and 12% of annual giving occurs on the last 3 days of the year. This holiday season donate a special year-end gift or create a Facebook fundraiser and raise money on behalf of ServeNow. Your gift is tax-deductible. But most importantly, your gift matters! It just might answer someone’s unanswered prayer or miracle.

4) Give Goods
Help us organize a supply drive, donate gently used clothes, or other items as needed. ServeNow hosts an annual clothing drive to support one of our National Leaders, who serves at the US Mexico Border sharing the Gospel. Sometimes those serving on a mission trip will collect items needed internationally.
5) Give Kindness
Serve as Jesus would serve to your neighbor or internationally. Random acts of kindness bring joy and inspiration to those when they least expect it. Whether it’s pulling in your neighbors’ trash cans, buying a stranger a cup of coffee, or praying for someone — share kindness and be a light in this dark world. You may never know the impact or importance of your kindness!
Whatever you decide in your heart to give, God will love to watch and see you give cheerfully. Give your voice, time, money, goods, or kindness this #GivingTuesday and the holiday season of giving. Tag us on Facebook (@WeServeNow) and share your #GivingTuesday with us.
