As we step into a new year of 2026, it’s natural to reflect on the year behind us and look ahead with anticipation. The end of 2025 reminds us of both the challenges and the victories we’ve experienced, and the ways God has carried us through it all.
Isaiah 40:31: Renewed Strength to Soar
Isaiah 40:27-31 encourages us:
“Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, ‘My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God’? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak… but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
This past year, ServeNow has witnessed God’s faithfulness in countless ways. Through the generosity and prayers of supporters like you, we’ve seen God transform lives, strengthen communities, and advance ministries.
Our Word of the Year: Soar
Our President, Ben Foley, on his last trip of 2025, took him to Uganda, where he trained pastors and leaders on the theme “Strength for the Weary.” Reflecting on the past year, he shared ServeNow’s “Word of the Year” tradition. The 2025 word was Elevate, representing the ways God lifted us through challenges. For 2026, the word is Soar—a reminder that God renews our strength so we can rise above what we cannot do on our own.
To help guide us, Soar is also an acronym:
- Solutions: Bring God-centered solutions, not just ideas. (1 Samuel 17:32)
- Obedience: Walk in wholehearted obedience to God, trusting His power. (1 Samuel 15:22)
- Awareness: Cast your anxieties on the Lord and tend to your whole being—spiritual, emotional, and relational. (1 Peter 5:7)
- Reward: Remember the promise of reward that comes through faithful action, motivating us to keep moving forward. (1 Samuel 17:26)
Looking Ahead: Stepping into 2026 with Faith
As we look ahead to 2026, we are praying for God’s supernatural strength to cover us so we can soar in all He has called us to do—individually, as a community, and through ministries around the world.
